3 pack mini florks
About this product
b.box Mini Flork™ Cutlery – 3 Pack
Part flower, part fork – the little utensil that makes picking up bite-sized foods easier (and a whole lot more fun).
Meet the flork™ – b.box’s clever flower-shaped take on a first fork.
Designed for little hands and mouths, the mini flork features rounded prongs that can pierce and hold bite-sized pieces of food, helping children independently pick up foods such as soft fruit, vegetables, pasta and pieces of meat.
The large handle gives little hands plenty to hold onto and greater control as they practise getting food from plate to mouth.
And because they’re small and compact, florks are easy to pop into a lunchbox or snack container for eating on the go.
Why we love them
Sometimes fingers aren’t the only way to explore food.
We love the mini flork as an early utensil because it simplifies the job.
Using a traditional fork requires quite a bit of precision. The flork’s chunky handle is easy for little hands to grasp, while the rounded prongs give them a simple way to pick up bite-sized foods and bring them towards their mouth.
But there’s another reason we keep these in our feeding toolkit.
For some children, touching an unfamiliar food can feel like a very big step. A little utensil like the flork can give them another way to interact with that food – without needing to touch it directly with their hands.
Pick it up. Move it around. Put it on another plate. Smell it. Bring it closer. Maybe even taste it.
It all counts as exploration.

Little utensil, lots of ways to explore
For children who are cautious around unfamiliar foods, eating doesn’t have to be the first goal.
The mini flork can become a simple tool for food exploration.
Use it to pick up a learning food. Move the food from one section of the plate to another. Dip it into something familiar. Bring it towards the nose for a smell. Touch it to the lips – or take a bite if your child feels ready.
A utensil creates a little distance between the child and the food, which can make interacting with something unfamiliar feel more manageable for some children.
A feeding therapist’s note
I love tools that give children another way to interact with food.
We often think food exploration means getting hands messy – and tactile food play can absolutely be valuable – but not every child is ready to put their hands straight into an unfamiliar texture.
For a child who is sensitive to touch or reluctant to handle a particular food, a little utensil can provide a bridge.
They can poke it, pick it up, move it, smell it or bring it closer without immediately having that food on their hands.
And from a self-feeding perspective, the chunky handle and small size make the flork easy for little hands to manage while they’re still developing the coordination needed for more traditional cutlery.
Small steps still count.
