Three toughness levels in every pack

Each set contains one Chewth Pick in each of ARK’s three toughness levels:

Standard – Softest
The softest and chewiest option, recommended for mild chewers who don’t typically chew through objects.

Medium Firm
A firmer middle option that still has plenty of chewability and provides more resistance.

Very Firm
The firmest option, providing the greatest resistance and generally the longest-lasting choice of the three.

Having all three in the same pack also means you don’t necessarily have to choose just one. Some people may prefer different levels of resistance at different times.

Small size, different chewing experience

Shape matters when choosing a chew.

The Chewth Pick is deliberately much slimmer than many traditional chew tools, which creates a very different chewing experience.

For someone who likes a narrow object such as the end of a pen or pencil, that slender profile may feel more familiar than a broad pendant or chunky handheld chew.

However, because it is so slim, ARK recommends the Chewth Pick primarily for mild chewing needs.

Someone who chews very forcefully or rapidly damages chew tools may be better suited to a thicker, more robust ARK design.

A therapist’s note

One thing I really appreciate about the Chewth Pick is that it acknowledges that sensory needs don’t disappear when someone becomes a teenager or an adult.

But preferences often change.

An older teen or adult may be perfectly happy to use a chew – they just don’t want something that looks like it was designed for a young child.

That’s why discretion matters.

I also think the three-pack is a great way to learn about someone’s preference for resistance. We often talk about finding the “right” toughness as though firmer is automatically better, but it isn’t.

Some people genuinely prefer a softer, chewier feel. Others want much more resistance. Some have differing needs at different times.

The best option is the one that meets the person’s chewing needs and feels right to them.
