The b.box Silicone Suction Plate + Lid ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to making mealtimes easier.

Made from soft platinum silicone, the plate features a strong suction base to help keep it in place, curved edges that make scooping easier and three separate sections for serving a variety of foods.

But one of our favourite features is the leakproof lid.

Why we love it

Because sometimes the best feeding products make life easier outside of mealtimes too.

From a feeding perspective, we love the curved sides. When little ones or children are learning to use utensils, being able to push food against the edge of the plate can make scooping much easier than chasing food around a flat plate.

A feeding therapist’s note

One of the things I like about this plate is that it supports independence without making self-feeding unnecessarily difficult.

Scooping is actually a complex skill. Young children have to coordinate their hand and utensil while somehow keeping the food on the spoon. The curved sides give them something to push the food against, which can make those early attempts much more successful.

I also really value the lid.

For families of children with a restricted range of accepted foods, eating away from home can take a lot of planning. Being able to prepare a familiar meal, put the lid on and bring the whole plate along means your child can still sit at the table and be part of the social experience—even when what’s being served isn’t something they’re ready or able to eat.

And when we’re working on expanding food variety, the three compartments can be handy for offering a small amount of a learning food alongside foods the child already knows and feels comfortable with.
