Choose your toughness

Like many ARK chews, the Blizzard Bite™ comes in three toughness levels, so you can choose according to how firmly and frequently the individual chews.

Standard / Softest
The softest and chewiest option. Best suited to mild chewing.

XT / Medium Firm
Firmer with more resistance. A good middle option for moderate chewers.

XXT / Very Firm
The firmest option, providing the greatest resistance and designed to be the longest-lasting choice for avid chewers.

As a general rule, choose the softest level that appropriately meets the person’s chewing needs. No chew is indestructible, so all levels should be regularly checked for signs of wear.

Texture + shape matter

Choosing a chew isn’t only about how firm it is.

Shape, thickness, texture and where someone prefers to chew can all influence which chew they enjoy using.

The Blizzard Bite has a round, disc-like shape with smooth edges and a raised snowflake on the front. This gives the user the option of exploring the textured surface while still having a smooth outer chewing edge.

A feeding therapist’s note

Do they bite with their front teeth or prefer something they can position towards the sides? Do they like a broad surface or something narrow? Do they actively seek texture or prefer their chew completely smooth?

The Blizzard Bite is one I’d consider for someone who enjoys a wider chewing surface and some additional tactile detail.

I also like wearable chews when having something readily accessible is important. Instead of chewing whatever happens to be nearby – a shirt collar, pencil or fingers – the person has an appropriate chew available to them.
