ARK Pizza Chew Necklace

A fun, textured wearable chew for kids who need something appropriate to sink their teeth into.

A slice of pizza you are allowed to chew on!

ARK’s Pizza Chew Necklace combines a playful pizza-slice design with a practical, wearable sensory chew. Its flatter shape makes it a great option for individuals who prefer chewing towards the front or sides of the mouth, while the raised pizza “toppings” provide extra texture and tactile interest.

Worn around the neck, it’s easy to access when the need to chew arises – providing an appropriate alternative to chewing on pencils, shirt collars, fingers and other objects that weren’t designed for the job.

Available in three toughness levels, you can choose the amount of resistance based on how the individual chews, not just which pizza they like best!

Why we love it

Because sensory tools don’t have to look clinical.

We love a chew that kids actually want to use and the Pizza Chew brings a little personality to something very practical.

The pizza shape provides a broader, flatter chewing surface than some of ARK’s long, narrow pendants, while the textured toppings add extra tactile feedback.

And because it’s wearable, the chew stays within easy reach throughout the day – particularly useful for individuals who regularly find themselves chewing whatever happens to be nearby.

Fun? Yes. But there’s plenty of thoughtful design behind that slice of pizza.

Great for

• Kids who seek oral sensory input
• Providing an appropriate alternative to chewing pencils, clothing, fingers or other objects
• Individuals who prefer chewing with their front teeth
• Individuals who prefer positioning a chew towards the premolars or sides of the mouth
• Kids who enjoy textured chewing surfaces
• Keeping a chew easily accessible throughout the day
• Individuals who prefer a broader, flatter chew surface
• Sensory chewing at home, school or when out and about
• Kids who prefer sensory tools that feel fun rather than clinical

Choose your toughness

Standard – Softest
ARK’s softest and chewiest option. Best suited to mild chewing or individuals who need less resistance.

Medium Firm – More resistance
Firmer than Standard while still retaining some chewiness. A good middle option for moderate chewers.

Very Firm – Most resistance
The toughest option, providing the greatest resistance and feedback for more vigorous chewers.

Not sure which one to choose?
Think about how your child currently chews. Gentle or occasional chewing generally calls for less resistance, while frequent or forceful chewing may require a tougher option.

A feeding therapist’s note

When choosing a chew, I don’t just think about how hard someone chews. I also look at where they like to chew and the type of surface they naturally seek out.

Some people love a long, narrow chew they can position further towards the back teeth. Others prefer biting with their front teeth or want something broader that sits comfortably along the side of the mouth.

That’s what I like about the Pizza Chew. Its flatter shape provides another option, while the textured toppings give the mouth a little more sensory information to explore.

And perhaps most importantly for some kids – it looks like a slice of pizza, not a therapy tool.

The best sensory tool is one that’s appropriate for the individual and that they’re actually happy to use.
