z-vibe brick tip
About this product
ARK Brick Tip for Z-Vibe®
A bigger, tougher Z-Vibe® attachment with two textures, three firmness levels and plenty of surface for biting and chewing.
The ARK Brick Tip brings a larger chewing surface to the Z-Vibe® system.
Inspired by ARK’s Brick Stick® chew, its rectangular shape features large bumps on one side and smaller bumps on the other, giving therapists and individuals two distinct textures to explore.
It’s also longer and more substantial than many of ARK’s traditional Z-Vibe tips, making it particularly useful when you want a chewable attachment with a little more size and resistance – while remaining slim enough to position towards the side of the mouth and molar area when appropriate.
Attach it to a Z-Vibe® or Z-Grabber® handle (sold separately) and use it with or without vibration depending on the individual and the purpose of the activity.
Why we love it
Many Z-Vibe attachments are deliberately small. That’s useful when a therapist needs a precise tool for providing tactile input to a particular area of the mouth.
The Brick Tip offers something different.
Its larger rectangular shape gives the teeth a broader surface to bite onto, while three firmness levels allow you to choose the amount of resistance that best suits the individual.
Then there are the textures.
One side has larger bumps. Flip it over and the other has smaller bumps. This makes it easy to vary the tactile experience without changing attachments.
And when used with the Z-Vibe, vibration adds another layer of sensory input – but it doesn’t have to be used simply because it’s available.
Great for
- Biting and chewing activities
- Individuals who prefer a larger chewing surface
- Exploring different levels of chewing resistance
- Providing tactile input to the mouth
- Exploring contrasting textures
- Guided biting and chewing practice in feeding therapy
- Positioning a chew towards the side teeth or molar area when appropriate
- Individuals who enjoy firmer, more substantial chew tools
- Oral sensory activities
- Use with or without vibration depending on the individual
- Speech pathologists, occupational therapists and other appropriately trained professionals
- Therapist-guided home programs
Two sides, two different textures
Turn the Brick Tip over and the sensory experience changes.
Large bumps
One side features larger raised bumps for more pronounced tactile input.
Small bumps
The reverse side has smaller bumps, creating a different surface for the lips, tongue, gums and teeth to explore.
Neither side is necessarily “better” or a progression from the other.
Some people seek out strong, obvious textures. Others prefer subtler surfaces. Texture preference is individual, and the two-sided design makes it easy to explore what feels useful and comfortable.
Choose your toughness
The Brick Tip is available in three colour-coded firmness levels.
Standard – Red
The softest and chewiest option. Recommended for mild chewing or individuals who prefer more give when they bite down.
Medium Firm – Teal
Firmer than Standard while still retaining some chewiness. Recommended for moderate chewing.
Very Firm – Royal Blue
The firmest option, with the greatest resistance. Designed for individuals who prefer chewing on fairly rigid items.
More resistance isn’t automatically better.
Choose according to the person’s chewing force, oral motor abilities and sensory preferences rather than assuming everyone should progress towards the firmest option.
Add vibration – or don’t
When attached to an activated Z-Vibe®, the Brick Tip combines its textured chewing surface with gentle vibration.
That can provide another type of tactile information during a structured oral sensory, biting or chewing activity.
But vibration is a sensory input – not an outcome.
Some individuals actively seek it out. Others may find it distracting or too intense. And sometimes the Brick Tip may be useful simply as a textured chew attachment without vibration at all.
The goal should always determine how the tool is used.
A feeding therapist’s note
What I like about the Brick Tip is that it gives us several things we can vary within one attachment: where we position it, which texture we present, how much resistance it provides and whether we add vibration.
That gives us plenty of flexibility.
For example, if I’m using it as part of biting or chewing practice, I might be interested in how someone responds when it’s positioned towards their side teeth rather than simply putting it into the mouth and asking them to chew.
If I’m using it for sensory exploration, I may compare the large bumps with the smaller ones – or introduce vibration and watch carefully to see whether that additional input is actually useful.
I don’t assume that more texture, firmer resistance or vibration is automatically better.
The important question is always: what am I trying to help this person notice or do, as well as which features of this tool are useful for that goal?

Important
The Brick Tip and Z-Vibe® are therapeutic tools, not toys, thus must should be used with direct adult supervision at all times.
Although made from durable medical-grade materials, no chew tool is indestructible. Individuals with strong or aggressive chewing patterns may damage the tip.
Inspect before and during use and replace the Brick Tip at the first signs of damage, deterioration or significant wear.
For therapeutic biting, chewing or oral motor activities, particularly where there are significant feeding or swallowing difficulties, use according to the recommendations of the individual’s treating clinician.
